What I thought was going to be an unexciting day turned out to be otherwise. Our plan for the day was to travel from Galway to Oughterard. Looking at the map it is not a long journey, in fact, Oughterard to Galway was part of yesterday’s ride. Tour guide Wilma must know all of the back roads of Ireland, today we travelled on more of them.
Right around the time we were looking for a good spot for a cookie break, we noticed a sign for the Celtic Crystal Visitor Centre and Showroom. We stopped and stumbled upon an amazing place. Not only was the crystal beautiful to look at, we got a personalized tour by the owner. I love the Claddagh Wedding Ring design (the joined hands of friendship, the heart signifying love and the crown signifying loyalty and nobility).
We, of course, stopped to explore another ruin. This one was actually cared for a little more, even charging an admission fee!
Both of us are still feeling the effects of yesterday’s ride. Feeling somewhat tired and happy to relax in our room for the evening.
